Age of the Universe
Currently the best scientific information places that age of the earth between 10 and 14 billion years old but that may be changing.

RE: Age of the Universe
Typo, you put age of the Earth, you meant age of the Universe.

Interesting article, there are several (many many, but several that may have a serious chance of being correct) theories on the universe,
  1. Universe started and will expand forever until there isn't enough energy for even atoms to move.
  2. The universe started and will expand until it starts to fall back in on it's self, and this could go on forever. Kinda like your article says.
  3. And then there are numerous multi-verse theories, where our Universe, everything that is, is only 1 in a realm where universes exist.

My personal #1 reason that I don't like religion is because I like knowledge! And Religion suppresses knowledge; not just the knowledge unfortunately, but it suppresses the entire drive to understand.
